We combined some gross motor practice with some pretend play today in a very simple way.
I dug out a 2×4 from our shed and placed it in the yard to be a balance beam.

| We raked up some leaves to put around our balance beam. |

| And then pretended that the leaves were fire…trying our very best not to step on the fire! |

| “Oh no! Hot, hot hot!” |
 |
| I also tried to show Big Brother how to “walk the line” with one foot in front of the other. We were partially successful. :) |

| Finally, our tractor became a firetruck to put out the fire… |

I love it! I think it's great when kids use their imaginations. So many children rely on adults, tv and video games to entertain them these days :(
