Easter Egg Necklace

We received a package in the mail yesterday and the “packing materials” was looooong strands of plastic crumpled together. The boys, of course, think that this is the greatest thing since sliced bread as they play “tug-of-war” and “walk-the-doggie” all day long. But an idea occurred to me as I was consoling Little Brother (after Big Brother pulled him and he fell into the armoire) to create an Easter Egg necklace! Because we are an all-boy household (minus me and the dog), necklaces are not something we typically sport. But a girl’s gotta have a little bling every now and again. ;)  And I’m pretty sure Big Brother will think it’s totally cool after he wakes up from his nap.

Here’s what you’ll need:  plastic easter eggs and a long strand of plastic (or even plastic clingwrap).

1. Twist the end of the plastic and tie a not.
2. Place the egg in between the plastic and twist the other side. Tie another knot. Repeat for the remaining eggs.
Ta-Da! Instant jewels!
Here I am sporting my new “bling”…and not looking into the camera apparently. ;)

*PLEASE USE CAUTION:  This “craft” is not for children under 3, nor should your child be allowed to wear the necklace unless under your direct supervision.

  1. Made these yesterday with my childcare girlies… We used cling wrap and instead of tying knots in between (we tried and it was too sticky! lol) so I cut 6 in pieces of ribbon and tied them in between! Came out super cute! Thanks for the great idea! ;)
