Last year for Mother’s Day, Big Brother (age 2 at the time) made personalized pot holders for both grandmothers (and I kept one for myself too). He was still in the “scribbling” stage, but I think even the scribbles are precious! I would love to do one every few years to keep and compare (since I am always needing pot holders anyway).
All you need to create a personalized pot holder is a plain-colored pot holder and fabric markers. I really wanted to use white pot holders, but couldn’t find any. I finally found the pot holder shown above at Target. It has a sylicone back and it isn’t quilted. I found the fabric markers at Michael’s.
Once you have the supplies, let your child go to town drawing whatever his/her heart desires!

I love this idea! I might use it for my mother-in-law. A little more personal than the usual pie from Baker's Square. That is always acceptable, of course! She's a little tough to buy for, so between my husband and his two siblings she sometimes ends up with three pies!
I love this idea! I think I am going to have my little one make one for both grandma's! Thanks for sharing!
What a great idea!!! I think we need to give this a try! We painted birdhouses for both grandmas for Christmas and now that I think of it, those would have been perfect Mother's Day/spring gifts!
Thanks for the idea! We are making this for both Grandmas…I love that we can easily pop these in the mail. Happy Mothers Day!
Hi! I was wondering how you set the markers. I used the same pot holders; can they go in the dryer?
