30 for 30 Challenge: Day 26 (Legos)

I haven’t been posting our 30 for 30 activities in several days because they have all been quite ordinary:  playing with blocks, playing together outside, doing puzzles, etc. I didn’t think you all wanted to see pictures of these very simple activities, but a friend of mine told me last night that she wanted me to keep posting even the ordinary things we do!

So Crystal, this post is for you…

Today we played with Legos for almost an hour!

We had a blast together!

What did you and your child(ren) play today???

  1. We live at a YMCA Summer Camp in MI where my husband is the Director. During the summer, our “ordinary” days (with my 2 and 4 year old sons) consist of feeding and/or riding horses (yes, they have both been on led trail rides!), climbing hay bales, swimming at the waterfront, hiking trails, building forts, discovering and bringing home insects (right now, we have several monarch caterpillars feeding on milkweeds in our kitchen butterfly house), watching campers do the high ropes course, zip lines, and climbing towers, fishing, getting a ridiculous amount of high fives from college-aged camp staff (who are pretty much my sons’ heroes), riding the HUGE tube slide (you sit on a sled to go down it), working in my vegetable/flower patch, or just relaxing at our cabin with toys, the sprinkler and bubbles. They also enjoy the sports court, playground area, and classic arts & crafts, and more! In the evenings, sometimes the boys get to enjoy a campfire or evening camp activity that the campers are participating in. Rainy days usually involve boots, rain coats, and lots of muddy puddles to jump in! I have a back pack on at all times (filled with typical diaper bag contents) and am a very tired Mama by bath time from hiking around all day! Camp is a very enriching, diverse environment and I feel thankful every day for our unusual summer life style :)

  2. I went on a field trip to the science center with my son and his class. I had my son in my group and we got to experience the science center together. It was awesome!

  3. Every weekend i used to pay a quick visit this site, as i wish for enjoyment, since this this site conations genuinely nice
    funny material too.

  4. Today we had a water fight, read books on the trampoline, made bubbles, washed the dog, and just enjoyed this summer which is slipping by sooooo fast!

  5. Hey Pal!! Thanks for the post. I really am encouraged to keep playing with my kids consistently and INTENTIONALLY. Seeing your kids’ faces as they play with you reminds me of how much kids just love to spend time with their parents and to have their undivided attention. Thanks a bunch! And L and B thank you too! : )
