The Tough Tablet that Could Survive Your Family

Technology has become a part of our everyday life. Although we limit the amount of time our kids spend in front of a screen, we still have found some great educational benefits to using tablets.

The only bad thing about devices is that they aren’t as tough as our kids (or us, for that matter). That is the great thing about Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4…it is tougher than other competitive glasses and I don’t have to worry as much about our children’s not-so-delicate treatment.

We were given an Acer Iconia Tab 10 A3-A20FHD to try out and it has been a huge hit with the whole family. Here are just a few of the ways we have utilized it:

  • Watching shows on Netflix
  • Playing educational games for the kids
  • Entertainment while traveling
  • Other tasks such as Facebook and Pinterest (only me, obviously)

I don’t know about your house, but the average life span of cheap plastic toys in our house is about 16 hours or less. Obviously, we have issues with gentleness around here. The Iconia Tab 10 is outfitted with Gorilla Glass 4, Corning’s toughest cover glass yet. It dramatically improves protection against drops, making it optimal for families (especially our family)!

The scientists at Corning Incorporated went to great lengths to develop the cutting edge technology that embodies Gorilla Glass 4. A unique process of fusion and ion-exchange makes Gorilla Glass 4 up to twice as tough as the competition. Gorilla Glass 4 is especially impressive when dropped on asphalt or concrete, which is where 70% of screen breakages occur. Although we have yet to put this to the test, I’m sure it won’t be long before our Iconia Tab 10 (outfitted with Gorilla Glass 4) gets a real-world drop-test with our crazy family.

As a mom of three with a busy summer schedule, I appreciate the peace of mind that comes with knowing that our tablet is durable and will stand up to the abuse that my kids can dish out. :) Whether it is in the car, at home, or on vacation, I can breathe easier knowing that Gorilla Glass 4 will help protect our tablet.

Corning® Gorilla® Glass has been used on more than 3 billion devices from 40 major brands. Is it on yours? Click here to find out

Balancing on Boxes for Toddlers

We have a healthy supply of boxes at our house.  I am an avid Amazon Prime shopper, so it feels as though we get a package nearly every day (hey, it's a lot easier to shop online than take 3 crazy kids shopping).  :)  Little Sister actually inspired this idea because we was always climbing and trying to stand on the boxes.   This is more of an activity than a craft, but I'm … [ Keep reading… ]

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Spiders

Get Rid of Spiders in Your House

When we first moved into our house over five years ago, we had a BIG spider problem.  Specifically, we had a brown recluse problem--one of only two types of spiders in North America that are extremely harmful to humans (a word of warning:  don't google brown recluse bites unless you plan on not eating for about 48 hours).  We also had a few mice in our house when we first moved here … [ Keep reading… ]
