Our boys’ favorite “recipe”

Yep, you’re looking at it. The entree that our boys eat this best is basically just penne pasta with butter and parmesan cheese. They gobble it up and always ask for more. Go figure!

There really isn’t a “recipe”. I just cook a box of penne pasta, drain it, add 2 Tablespoons of butter and sprinkle on parmesan cheese. Talk about easy to please!

What’s your favorite “easy” recipe to make for your family?

  1. This is one of my fav’s, comfort food at its finest :) I ate it alot while morning sick with my children~ My kiddos love it too! The more cheese the better :)

  2. This is one of my sons favorite things to eat as well!!! Only problem for me is my daughter is not so excited about it!! :)

  3. Also was going to prepare it today for a friend who just had a stint put in, figured it be something she could handle! Kindof weird you just posted it as I got the idea~ :)

  4. I do a recipe like this that the kids lot… but I add 1/2 cup of butternut squash puree. The puree and the parm. cheese makes for a yummy sauce!

  5. In Italy we call that Pasta Bianco. It’s eaten a lot over here. It’s fed to children, babies, anyone who is sick…It’s very light on the stomach. What’s funny is my kids requested that for dinner tonight. We just got done eating it on this part of the world. :)

  6. Same for us. Sometimes they like sauce. I make a batch of homemade sauce and put small containers in the freezer so we can pull them out and use them. I also will make a lot more pasta than they will eat in 1 sitting so I can make it faster during the week.

  7. FYI sometimes I’m not getting all the posts from you right through my blog reader. I click on the link to read the whole post and it takes me to “Page Not Found.” Sometimes I can find it by clicking on “Home” and sometimes not–like it’s disappeared. I don’t know if anyone else is having that problem?

    1. Which post were you trying to view? Sometimes that happens because I “accidentally” post something (or made a mistake) and then have to take it off. It comes off the site, but it does not delete it from the blog readers. That could be what happened. If it was the adoption post you clicked on and got an error page..it was because I took it off because I had the wrong author!

  8. I can’t believe other people do this too! I got made fun of for making my kids eat “plain” pasta–but my kids request it at least once a week for lunch. We add a little milk too.

  9. My kids love to make something like this themselves, they grate what ever cheese we have around, natural cheddar, mozzerella, gouda and add it to pasta, sometimes adding pesto. I started making this for them when they were 2 and 4, now they make it themselves. It is a great way to use up leftover pasta. They also will make their own quesidillas.
