Pumpkin Life Cycle Printable Memory Game
It’s Day 8 of our 31 Days of Pumpkin Activities series! Today we are talking about the pumpkin life cycle. I made this Pumpkin Life Cycle Printable Memory game that can be used in a couple of different ways.
Little Sister loved playing ‘Memory’ with these cards. We also used some of our curved Spielgaben blocks to create a Pumpkin Life Cycle Diagram. Finally, these printable cards would be great for demonstrating the sequence of a pumpkin life cycle!

Before printing, make sure you have the setting for double-sided printing turned on. That way one side will be the stages of the life cycle and the other will be the title image.
Prior to playing the game, we read a couple books that included information about pumpkin life cycles. The Pumpkin Book by Gail Gibbons and Perfect Pumpkins by Jeff Bauer were two of our favorites.
After we read through our books, I got out one set of the Pumpkin Life Cycle cards and demonstrated the life cycle using some curved blocks that came with our Spielgaben set.
Next, we shuffled both sets and got started playing. Little Sister has played ‘Memory’ before and so she was familiar with how to play the game. The goal of the game is to get the most number of “matches”…but you can only turn over two cards at a time.
Woo-hoo! A match! Two “vine” cards!
Little Sister was excited for another match!

I know this doesn’t match, but I couldn’t figure out how to respond to the pumpkin with the tees. Love this Idea!!!!!
Look lovely l will try one out.thanks!
Those cards look so cute. Thank you for sharing.
Your articles are really amazing and I got a lot of information and guidance reading them.
This game can be played like memory match or you can just read and match them up together. You can use just the picture cards to build vocabulary. Or you can use just the sentence cards.
Great post!
It says “Failed to Load PDF Document”. Some other activities downloaded fine, but not this one. Thanks.
I am so sorry about that, Hannah! I just saw your comment. I’m not sure what happened to the PDF originally loaded, but I have updated it: https://www.icanteachmychild.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Life-Cycle-of-a-Pumpkin-Memory-Game.pdf
