Pumpkin Volcanoes
It’s Day 7 of our 31 Days of Pumpkin Activities series. Today’s activity was definitely a favorite among all three of my children (ages 9, 7, and 3).
This is a spin on the classic baking soda and vinegar volcanoes, but these pumpkin volcanoes never get old! So simple and so fun!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Mini Pumpkins (hollowed out)
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Food Coloring
1. Cut open the pumpkins and hollow them out. Add a few drops of red and yellow food coloring into the bottom of the pumpkins. Add a scoop of baking soda on top. This is a “color surprise” trick I learned from Busy Toddler.
2. Pour some vinegar into the squeeze bottles and then let your kiddo have some fizzy fun.
So fun!

This is so spectacular! My toddler is absolutely obsessed with volcanoes, so we’ll be trying this out next Autumn. Thank you!
Love your ideas! I can’t wait to implement them this week for my class!
