Smart Projector: Product Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
The Smart Projector by Smart Play is a fantastic resource for preschoolers and budding artists alike!
This battery-operated, kid-proof projector comes with 5 cartridges to help children learn to write letters and draw animals. In addition to being a great tool for fine motor practice for preschoolers, it also teaches older children how to write the animal names in both English and Spanish.
We really enjoyed getting to try out this awesome product! Big Brother has spent lots of time tracing the letters in his name. He even attempted to trace an animal, though it ended up being most scribbles. You can even adjust it to fit the size of your paper (or your child’s fine motor abilities). My only complaint is that the light could be just a tad bit brighter, especially when attempting to use it in a room with full sun (as we did).
Not only would the Smart Projector be great for home use, but it would also be a fantastic center activity for primary classrooms!
Check out our video of this fun product:
Would you like to win one? To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment with why you would like a Smart Projector as well as your e-mail address (which will be deleted after the giveaway).

This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only (apologies to my international readers). The giveaway will end on Friday, June 10 at 10am (CST). Shortly after, a winner will be randomly selected using random.org.

Good luck!

I think this is a great tool to help my three year old with her fine motor skills. I'd probably use it at first to help her write her name and maybe start to learn her numbers. [email protected]

What a cool product! As a Spanish teacher, I love that it incorporates building literacy in a second language; more than just hearing and speaking the words. The added bonus of art adds appeal to the new words and letters. I would love to use one of these with my budding reader and budding Spanish speaker. We could practice letters and words in both languages and make some great art for the fridge and the grandparents!

I love the crafts and activities on your blog. I saw this contest on Facebook and it reminded me of all the fun/educational toys my mom would get for my brother and I to play with when we were little. We loved it, and we are both constantly on the lookout for similar toys for our 19-month old boys (born 3 weeks apart). Plus, if it involves drawing and animals I might be able to get my husband to play with my oldest son in a way that doesn't involve wrestling or screaming.

What a cool product!!!! My oldest is 5 and this would be perfect for him! Jackson was a preemie and had issues with fine and gross motor as a baby. He never learned to crawl, which affected the muscle formation in his hands, and as a result, now has some fine motor issues. As a Kindergarten teacher, I can help him at home on this, and he doesn't go to therapy. He has grown so much with my help, and this would be a great tool to help him along the way. He has just started drawing pictures, and this would give him some confidence in learning how to properly draw animals, etc… Also I have a two year old who loves to draw along with his older brother, and this might help him with beginning shapes now, and of course letters and numbers along the way. I also have an 8 month old, so we would get a lot of use out of this! (wow, am thinking it would be a great Christmas gift!- but we will wait to see if we win first!!!) [email protected]

I have a 6 year old that just graduated Kindergarten and loves to show off, so he'd love to use it to practice, but even more important I have a 4 year old that will start Pre-k next year that is completely uninterested in doing more than scribbling with a pencil. The one item in our house that is used DAILY is my daughter's easel that was given as a Christmas gift by our Pastor's family. We have had this for nearly two years and it is WELL loved.

My mother sends my daughter scraps of paper and notepads she not longer uses because my daughter goes through paper like crazy. Various friends keep her in markers and crayons.

My daughter would absolutely LOVE this product and I have often considered buying her one. Thank you for your review. I will put it on her wish list and see if we can find a great deal on one.

I am always looking for something new for my 2yr old. I also have a 9mo old who takes lots of my time due to his special needs. The look on my 2yr old's face when I have a craft or a new activity set up for him makes my heart smile and pushes away some of that guilt that builds up from having to spend so much time with the baby.

AS my kids are now 22, 21, and 18, I would love to givwe this to the Mom's Morning Out preschool program at our church. They meet once a week, and provide a free preschool program, faith-based, to allow moms a chance to get some work done at home, or grocery shop, or whatever they choose (they don't even ask what they did while they were gone! :D ). It's a wonderful program, and it's been around for 17 years, I believe. Those ladies are amazing. :D
