Whipped Topping Painting (and Paint Fight)

Whipped Topping Painting and Paint Fight

Why not make art and have dessert all at the same time?!?! For Day 28 of our 31 Days of Outdoor Activities for Toddlers series we enjoyed this Whipped Topping Painting activity that very quickly turned into a Whipped Topping Family Paint Fight!

We had SO. MUCH. FUN! And the best part was we just hosed everyone (and everything) down to clean up!

I know one of the first questions to this activity will be if it stained the clothes/swimsuits since we used food coloring. I just pulled out the laundry and we have ZERO stains. Immediately after our  whipped topping paint fight, all guilty parties were hosed down. Then I quickly sprayed any spots on the clothes with spot cleaner and threw everything in the washing machine. But just because we didn’t have any issues, I wouldn’t take any chances. If you try this activity at home, make sure you have your child wear something that you don’t mind being stained (just in case).

Here’s what you’ll need for the Whipped Topping Painting:

6 Tubs of Cool Whip (I used Walmart’s generic whipped topping)

Food coloring (we used primary colors)

White Shower Curtain Liner

Whipped Topping

1. Dump 2 packages of whipped topping (Cool Whip or generic) into a bowl and then add the food coloring. Stir well until the color has blended.

2. Lay out the shower curtain liner outside on a flat surface.

Let your little ones get started “painting”. Little Sister alternated between eating and painting.

Things quickly took an eventful turn when Daddy decided to get a little playful with the whipped topping!

Big Brother was getting sloshed with a giant pile of whipped cream at the time this picture was taken!

Meanwhile…someone was caught red pink handed. ;)

Hosing off after Whipped Topping Painting

To clean up, hose everyone off and then send them inside for showers/baths. Hose down the shower curtain liner well and then hang to dry!
