Prince Lionheart PottyPod: Product Review and Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed*

I was recently chosen, along with 19 other bloggers, to be a Prince Lionheart Elite Writer. This is great news for you because it means that 4 times THIS YEAR I’ll be reviewing and giving away a Prince Lionheart product!

I selected the PottyPod to review first because our Elmo potty is disgusting and in desperate need of replacing. Big Brother was especially excited to try out a new potty!

Let me just tell you that this potty is the CADILLAC of all potties. Seriously, I’m in love (with a potty, I know…I have issues).

If you think that all potties are created equal, you are so very wrong, my friend! Let me just tell you all of the wonderful things about this snazzy potty.

  • Awesome built-in deflector shield. If you are the mother of a little boy, you know how important this is. No more accidental sprays all over the bathroom tile! Our old potty had a removeable deflector shield, which meant there was a little slot where “stuff” could collect. Groddy!
  • One-piece removable bowl that can be lifted straight off:  You don’t have to remove the seat first to dump the contents. In fact, it is so easy that Big Brother now lifts it off, dumps his potty, and rinses it ALL BY HIMSELF. Woo-hoo for independence!
  • Made with Anti-microbial material:  From the Prince Lionheart website, “The ONLY Anti-Microbial pottyPOD™ on the market! The soft, cushiony surface of the pottyPOD™ is treated with an EPA approved additive to inhibit the growth of microorganisms that may cause spoilage, odors and mildew.” Genius!
  • Height Adjustable:  When we work up the courage in about a year or so to attempt to potty train Little Brother, this potty chair will fit him like a glove and still meet the needs of our first in-house “expert.”
  • Soft and cushy seat:  Big Brother commented on how soft and squishy it was the first time he sat on it! Why don’t they make adult toilet seats out of this super-soft material?
  • Lovely colors and sleek design:  Take your pick…green, pink, or blue! We chose the green to go with the decor in the boy’s bathroom.

A few things that could potentially be negative (but aren’t really):

  • Size:  This is a LARGE potty chair. If you have a small bathroom like we do, it will take up quite a bit of room. This could be a positive too, however, especially if you have an older child that is being potty-trained.
  • Price:  As I’m writing this review, the potty chair is currently priced at $35.67 on Amazon. This might be a little more than what you wanted to spend on a potty chair (it was about $12.00 more than our original Elmo potty was, that is now residing where it should be…in the garbage). But I promise you, that $10 extra dollars is so worth it! Amazon reviewers agree with me…it got the coveted 5-Star Rating!

So if you’re in the market for a potty chair…look no further! This is the best! And I’ve probably used more exclamation marks in this product review than any other, simply because it has made my life so much easier by allowing Big Brother to do his business and then clean it up all by himself! Plus, it helps with that Self-Help/Adaptive domain of early childhood development! Check out this video to see just how easy it is to use!
