30 for 30 Challenge: Day 7 (Human Choo-Choo Train)

It’s Day 7 of our 30 for 30 Challenge!
Today was one of those times when playing with something ordinary (sidewalk chalk) led to something extraordinarily creative! After handing Big Brother the chalk, he was determined to build a railroad. We have a pretty long driveway and he was determined to do it the entire length. It was so cute watching him work so intently.

While Big Brother worked tirelessly on the railway, Little Brother and I decided to help by adding a little scenery. Flowers, grass, and trees were our contribution.

Actually, this was more of Little Brother’s contribution…

After we finished the railroad, the boys pretended to be train engines…

Then, we made a human train and chuga-chuga’d down and back for a solid 10 minutes!

It’s always amazing to me how the simple things can be the most fun!

What did you and your child(ren) play today???

Looks like fun! I love the kid-invented games and activities, so much fun to just participate as a mom instead of trying to “lead” or “teach” a game.
We painted outside — messy and fun!

Jenae,
We have been using your site every day to pick an activity or two to do from your 1-2 years category. We have enjoyed: apple themed sensory tub (although I used leaves from our trees and put number sticker on each of them then tossed them into the bucket of oatmeal), finger painting, my body book, building block towers, eating with a spoon, and pasta snakes.
Just popping by today to find our next activity: homemade shaker this morning and clothes pin drop this afternoon.
I just love your site! Thank You!
My kids were playing shop this week. We had a train store and they set up everything for sale. We made an order form for Daddy on Google Docs. When he filled it out, we sent him an invoice. They loved it!
What a cute idea!
That is so cute!!never would of thought of that. So inexpensive and cute to do.
We just did this earlier in the week with the brown paper amazon includes in their packages! My son and neighbor loved it! (I’ll be sharing it next week).
