ALEX Toys "First Trampoline": Product Review and Giveaway

With winter in full force here, I’m always looking for indoor gross-motor activities for our two very active boys. I was so excited when ALEX Toys agreed to do a giveaway…and even more excited when I got to choose the product from their newest toys!

I chose ALEX Toys’ “Jumping Junior First Trampoline” because I thought it would be a great opportunity for both boys to enhance their balance and coordination skills…and of course, work off some of that energy!

I was very happy to see that this trampoline, unlike almost all others on the market, is rated for children 12+ months. Indeed, this is a favorite activity of Little Brother’s! He loves to stand on the trampoline, holding onto the handle bar and “jump” (though his feet never actually get off the ground). I actually think the trampoline has helped him walk steadier. He took his first step exactly 5 weeks ago…and he is now walking really well! The practice he gets from balancing on the trampoline has really helped to steady his steps. :)

I absolutely LOVE the rubber handle bar that allows the boys security while jumping. I also love that the pad is sewn into the actual trampoline, making it even safer by ensuring that the pad never comes off.
Finally, I love that the legs fold…meaning that I can fold it up and put it in the closet when I want it out of the way.

My only disappointment in this product is that when Big Brother (almost 3 years, who weighs 32 pounds) jumps “full force” and puts ALL his weight on the handle bar, the back legs sometimes come off the ground a teensy bit and makes a loud noise on the ground. I’m not sure why this happens…it hasn’t caused any accidents or anything, but it still makes me a little nervous. The maximum weight listed on the trampoline is 50 pounds. HOWEVER, the website actually says that the product is suitable for 12 months, so I guess this means that Big Brother really shouldn’t even be using the trampoline!

Overall, I think this is a great product for children 1-2 years old!!! And I have been super-impressed with the quality of ALEX Toys!

  25. Whether I win or not I am asking the grandparents for one of these for my daughter's birthday. I think little trampolines are the best way to get that energy out, esp on these freezing cold days!!!
