Products for a Hands-Free Holiday (and great gift ideas too)

The busiest time of the year is upon us and, as moms, life can be a little overwhelming as we try to make it a special time for everyone. We recently received two products from Panasonic to review that not only will help you stay focused on what matters this holiday season, but would also be great gift ideas!

Link2Cell Digital Phone

One of my goals for the holidays is to spend less time on my cell phone. Up until Little Sister was born, I was rarely on my phone when we were home. It stayed in my purse by our garage door. After she was born and I was nursing nonstop, my phone became my constant companion (especially in the middle of the night). But my phone usage has gotten a bit out of control and I need to reign it in again. Facebook and texting can wait–spending time with my family should be my first priority!

The Link2Cell Digital Phone from Panasonic allows you to have a home phone without a landline! This means you can put your cell phone down (and charge it!) to spend time with your family without having to worry about missing important calls. Whenever a call comes in on your cell phone, it will automatically ring on both of your home phones.

For the last few years, we have used Ooma for our home phone and have had Panasonic phones with Bluetooth to our cell phones. When we are at home, our cell phones ring on the home phone as well…no matter where in the house our cell phones are currently residing! When we had the opportunity review this set, we were thrilled because now we can charge our phones as well and receive text notifications! And we can eventually ditch our home phone altogether (even though we are currently paying only $3/month for home phone service).

We also LOVE that it doubles as a charging station and a speaker…less cords and components to have to organize and keep track of!

 Open Ear Headphones

These Open Ear headphones are bone conduction headphones, which means that the speaker rests on your outer ear as opposed to in the ear itself. This allows you to listen while simultaneously being able to hear your surroundings. This is a HUGE safety feature for runners and other outdoor athletes that need to be able to hear oncoming traffic, etc. My husband (the runner in our family) is especially excited about this. And they are water-resistant so sweat won’t be a problem.

These headphones aren’t just limited to exercise use, though. They are also perfect for listening to music or an audio book while cooking or folding laundry and still be able to hear your baby when she wakes up from her nap (or your older kids fighting downstairs…not that I have any experience with that or anything). :)

I’ll be honest, these headphones take some getting used to. But once you become comfortable with the way they fit around your ears, they are a great option for athletes and moms alike. I would love to start listening to more audio books while doing household chores and now I have the perfect opportunity!
