Self-Portrait

Around 3 years of age, children will stop scribbling with crayons and start creating meaningful pictures. For the last several weeks, I have tried (to no avail) to get Big Brother to draw a picture of a person. He refused and would simply draw squiggly lines that made absolutely no sense (at least not to me, anyway).

So today I decided to give him a picture of himself while he was drawing. This helped tremendously…check out Big Brother’s very first self-portrait.

We walked through the placement of the eyes, nose, and mouth in relation to each other. He even decided to add the hair before I could say anything!

  1. Love it. Love it. Love it! I'm always thrilled to see children's drawings and your son did an excellent job. Good idea giving him a picture of himself. You're so smart.
