A Lesson Learned: It’s the Little Things

Life isn’t made up of huge, momentous events that truly define us (apart from getting married and the birth of our children, perhaps). It’s the little, everyday moments that make life worth living and shape us into who we are.

Like being woken up by your favorite almost-4-year-old with a kiss on the cheek and an, “I love you, Mommy” in your ear.

Or when your husband takes an entire day off of work when you’re sick to take care of these little rascals.

And when that same amazing husband breaks out his crafty side and does a project with the boys especially intended to brighten your day.

Or when a friend drops of a Sonic Dr. Pepper (your fav) just because…

Yes, it’s often the little things that mean the most. I feel like I have been on the receiving end of SO MANY acts of kindness this week. And I am so, so thankful for the love of the people around me.

And likewise, I think it’s often the little things that define our relationship with God as well. Seeing Him answer a prayer, beholding the majesty of an amazing sunset (part of His creation), seeing recurring truths from His Word presented over and over again in unrelated ways. These ‘little things’  help me to realize that God really does care about me and my day-to-day joys and challenges just as he cares about each of you. These things are faith builders. I’m so thankful for the little things!
