Show-and-Share Saturday: Magnetic Menu Planner

This isn’t really an activity to do with your child, but it DOES help you organize your life in order to spend more time together! The Amazing Mess has a brilliant idea for using paint samples to create a magnetic menu planner! Check out the “how-to” here. There is also a more labor-intensive version here if you’ve got some extra time.
I will definitely be making one of these this weekend! Hopefully it will help me stick with our new routine and I can have dinner on the table every weeknight!

  1. That is a great idea! I think I'll try it. One of my goals this year is to be better at meal planning & this is a great help. Thanks for sharing :)

  2. I do mine on the computer and print it off to hang on a clip board above the stove… magnets would save lots of paper and ink…

  3. I use Say MMM to generate a monthly menu. It has a print feature and I just hang it on the fridge. It's not "cute" but it's functional and takes up little space. Anyone can do the same type of thing in Word.
I have to say Menu planning is a must for any family. I have been doing a monthly plan now for four months and it takes much less time than the weekly plan. we list our favorite foods, easy meals and put them all down. If we need to switch days of what we prepare, no problem. Say MMM is a good resource to keep all of your recipes in one place and it generates a grocery list for you too. http://www.saymmm.com
