Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite early childhood authors. I recognize and respect that some educators don’t appreciate his nonsensical stories…but I think they are timeless and engaging. The rhyme and rhythm of the text in each story just begs to be read aloud and enjoyed. All three of my children love sitting perched on my lap while we read a Dr. Seuss book together!

Every year children across the country honor Dr. Seuss on his birthday, March 2nd on a day that is known as Read Across America.
