Preparing for '30 Days of Intentional Acts of Kindness"

Just four more days until the kick-off for our 30 Days of Intentional Acts of Kindness! Over the next few days, I encourage you to do the following with me:

Pray! This is the most important thing you can do as we prepare to intentionally bless the lives of the people around us. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in your life and for God to reveal specific acts of kindness that can make a difference in the life of another.
Make a list of seven simple acts of kindness. This is a starting point as we begin our journey together. On November 1st, I’ll be posting a link-up where you can share your ideas and links to your posts (if you don’t have a blog, leave your ideas in the comments and on our Facebook page. Don’t plan out the whole month in advance because I think it’s important to be open to the Spirit’s leading. If you have a plan that’s set in stone, that might make it more difficult to take action with the acts laid on your heart. But with 7 ideas pre-planned, you’ll have a good starting point and will be able to share your ideas with others on November 1st (and glean some ideas as well).

Also, I want to forewarn you that there will be very few photos in the posts that I write regarding the 30 days of Intentional Acts of Kindness. As hard as it will be for me to keep the camera in its bag, I feel very convicted that this should not become a production. I want these acts to be genuine and heartfelt and not have any inkling of “showing off” or being staged. This is not the point of this series! Above all else, I want God to be glorified through this next month…not myself or my kids. Whatever pictures I do show will likely be of objects.

(And because November 1st is inevitably the day after Halloween, you might want to go ahead and start working on your ideas. Waiting until Tuesday might prove a bit more difficult with sugar-induced comas and all. Just a suggestion…take it or leave it.) :)

Sounds like a great idea… We will be participating,, I think it might be great for my kids to get involved as well… (-:
