Water Wagon
Our small group at church wanted to do something as a sort of outreach in the community. I don’t know about where you live, but it has been HOT here. Really hot. Like record-breaking hot. So, we decided we would hand out cold water bottles at a nearby park.
This was a great opportunity to help our children do something for someone else. Young children are naturally egocentric (but really…aren’t we all? We never seem to fully outgrow that as human beings). Anytime we can encourage them to think of someone else, it is instilling in them that other people’s needs, wants, and feelings matter!
The Sunday before we went, we printed off some cute little phrases like “Jesus Loves YOU this I know, For the Bible tells me so.” We had the kids decorate them with crayons and markers.
We then put packing tape on the back of each strip of paper (since the bottles would be wet) and then attached them with more packing tape. Into the refrigerator they went to get cold!

We decided to head to a neighborhood park (that conveniently also had some fountains for the kids to play in). Here is our “water wagon.”

I love this idea. What a great way to model how to love others and get the kids involved at the same time. Thank you for sharing! You are a blessing!
We did this with our new church plant a couple of different times, with just the church name on it. It was a great way to "make" us meet new people, plus share a little love. Congrats on getting the kiddies involved!
