With every "NO" there is a better "YES"
Happy Tuesday!
My name is Melissa from The Cutest Chaos!
I am very excited to be a guest blogger for I Can Teach My Child!

I married my high-school best friend and a mother of 3 boys. This blog is a good reminder of the girly things I sometimes forget! ”. I try hard to keep Christ at the center of our life in The Cutest Chaos.

A Lesson Learned: With every “NO” there is a Better “YES”
When we were young we probably heard “No” all the time, some more than others. In school, we learned to “just say no”. Then as we reach our adult years we find ourselves teaching our children the meaning of the word. One thing I have notice over my years as a mother, I find it was harder and harder to say NO.
As a working mother, I find it hard to say no to working all the time or traveling away from my family.
As a stay-at home mother, I find it hard to say no to obligations. Obligations that may come from friends, extended family, church, or anything that envelops my day to day.
As a homemaker, I find it hard to say no to the cleaning, laundry, blogging, etc. :)
“No!” Can be a powerful word. I think as a mother I find it so hard to “Just Say No!” We have a family who needs our undivided attention, we have a home that needs a clean sweep, we have a church that needs our gifts, we have a job or two that help provides for our lifestyle. Shouldn’t we be taking care of ourselves?
We need to say no to say yes to something better.
No to staying up an extra 30 minutes to fold laundry could be a…Yes, Lord, I can wake up 30 minutes early to spend time with you.
No to vacuuming for the 2nd time that day could be a…Yes to play Battleship with you.
No to writing just one more post or answering one more email could be a…Yes to playing outside with my children.
No to a meeting at church could be a…Yes to watching the boys Baseball game.
No to another hour of work for our job could be a…Yes to having a meaningful conversation with my husband.
I challenge you to start saying NO. You will be amazed how good it feels. Remember for each NO! opens us up for a wonderful Yes!
Because if you were me wouldn’t you want to say yes to doing things with them…

Very nice and very inspiring
Thank you! I also find it hard to say no, but my family comes first and I need to start. :)
