What to do when it rains…
Here are just a few things we’ve been doing with our dreary weather lately…

“I filled up the sink with water and grabbed a bunch of non-sharp kitchen items. She goes crazy with excitement every time we do this and would spend hours, if I let her, playing in this way. She pours water back and forth in different containers, scoops it with various utensils, and does all sorts of creative things that I would never dream of. It’s fun to listen to her talk and sing. On a couple of occasions I’ve even let her “clean” a few plastic dishes with a soapy sponge (this gets quite a bit messier).
I guess a kid would need to have the coordination to stand on a step stool and not fall off while playing. Also, the mom has to be okay with water getting on the floor, surrounding countertop and clothing!
I know this is very similar to a water table toy or just sticking your kid in the bathtub, but it is free, doesn’t require storage, and is just plain different than the tub! You have tons of great ideas on your site, but if you ever need a suggestion for a rainy day, this is one of the favorites in our household!”

I also used erase markers on windows and they were awesome to clean
I bet goo gone would get regular crayon off your windows.
My two boys absolutely love playing in the sink. When I'm cooking they like to "help" and enjoy splashing around in the sink. :-)
Some of the earliest coloring Little Guy did was to decorate a window for me! I was laughing and upset all at the same time….and left it for Daddy to see when he got home. And then we forgot and it was up there for almost a week. Oops. A little WD-40 and it came right off (works on walls too) and then we just cleaned the window like normal to make sure no WD-40 was left on there.
