Dirt and Worms Sensory Tub

Today is Day 12 of our 31 Days of Outdoor Activities for Toddlers. Today we got DIRTY with this Dirt and Worms Sensory Tub. I originally saw this idea for using spaghetti worms over on Learning 4 Kids. I just so happened to have a box of expired spaghetti in my pantry that I needed to use, so I figured this was as good of a use as any!

We did not have any loose dirt accessible without tearing up our yard, so we used potting soil. I just made sure that we washed our hands really well afterwards.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Dirt (we used potting soil)

Cooked spaghetti

Plastic Tub

1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Prepare the tub by dumping in your dirt.

At first, Little Sister was a bit hesitant.

…but then she decided she enjoyed the texture (and getting dirty) so she jumped right in! :)

The spaghetti coated with dirt looks like a wig!

I’m just so thankful she didn’t try to put it on her head!
