Have you heard of Kiwi Crate?
Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription service, targeted at kids ages 3-7. They deliver a box to your child each month that’s designed around a certain theme (think Dinosaurs, Garden, Superheroes, Space.) In each box are 2-3 carefully designed and kid-tested projects, which cover a range of developmental areas and subjects, including art, science, and imaginative play. All the materials and inspiration to encourage creativity and curiosity are included – you just supply the kid!
This summer, Kiwi Crate is committed to giving back to the community by reaching out to kids who might not normally have access to fun and enriching crafts and activities. So they’ve teamed up with a few of their favorite bloggers and charities and launched the Summer of Giving: During this program, for each new subscription ordered, Kiwi Crate will donate one crate full of arts, crafts, and science activities to a children’s charity.
This week we have partnered with Kiwi Crate in order to support Nhowe Mission, a school and hospital in rural Zimbabwe, Africa. For each new subscription ordered, Kiwi Crate will donate one crate full of arts, crafts, and science activities to be shipped to this school in Zimbabwe. Imagine the excitement on the faces of the children when they open their boxes…most of who consider sharing a simple pencil between 5 classmates to be a luxury!!!
I chose Nhowe Mission as my sponsored charity because it is near and dear to my heart. I have visited this hospital and school on 4 separate occasions (prior to having children–the last time I was able to go was in 2005). The hospital is named after my oldest brother, who was killed in a car accident just a few short months after visiting Nhowe Mission. My brother had planned to return to Nhowe Mission as a missionary after graduating college.
You can also go here to enter Kiwi Crate’s contest for a free 3-month subscription.
Now is the time to try out Kiwi Crate! Go here to get started…and bring a big, giant smile to the face of a child halfway around the world in the process.
Be sure and use the code “NHOWEMISSION” through July 30th to make sure your subscription counts towards sending a kit to Nhowe Mission!
