Alphabet Craft: B is for Bear

Alphabet Crafts are a great way to reinforce letter names and sounds while also incorporating multiple domains of development.  I have attempted a few alphabet crafts with Little Brother, starting with letter “a” (which ended up being somewhat of a disaster).  After a month-long break, we are trying once again.  I am happy to say, this alphabet craft went much better than the last one!

Here’s what you’ll need:  cardboard or brown cardstock, dried coffee grounds, scissors, glue, googly eyes, and pom-poms.

This alphabet craft was inspired by a plate we bought on MAJOR clearance at Pottery Barn Kids.

1.  Make the letter “B” on cardstock or cardboard and the nose, mouth, hands, ears, etc.  I would recommend using brown paper/cardboard instead of white since the bear will look much more natural this way.

2.  Glue all the bear parts onto the “B”.

 3.  Have your child use a cotton swab to spread the liquid glue as evenly as possible over the entire surface.

4.  Start sprinkling the coffee grounds!

This was Little Brother’s favorite part!

 5.  Cover the surface completely and let dry.

6.  Add a googly eye, a black pom-pom for the nose, and a blue pom-pom for a blueberry.
